Infos Grand Prix Suva

En raison des tentions politiques à Fidji, l'OAA a modifiée le déroulement du Grand Prix. La première journée se déroulera à Nadi au lieu de Suva et la deuxième journée à Apia.

ear Friends,

The last few weeks in Fiji have meant that the Oceania Athletic Association has had to reassess our ability to hold our Grand Prix Series in Suva.  I have this morning, spoken with Vuli Waqa in Suva and we are of the opinion that Suva is not an appropriate venue at this time.
Our first consideration must always be to the safety of our athletes and officials, therefore the decision to make this last minute change is not made lightly.  Therefore, it is with great disappointment that we have made the decision to relocate the 2006 Grand Prix Series to Nadi, to a venue to be confirmed. All athletes and officials who had previously nominated for the event have confirmed their attendance in Nadi for the Series.
The 1st meet will be conducted at a suitable School track on the Western side of the Fiji Islands on Saturday 9th December followed by a mini-meet on the Monday 11th December.  The 2nd Grand Prix event will now be held on Tuesday afternoon in Apia at Apia Park.
The Oceania Athletic Association looks forward to continuing to work with the Fiji Athletic Association in ensuring that the Grand Prix Series will still be a huge success.
A full schedule of the revised meets will be forwarded to everyone and be posted to the website as soon as it is available.
